LEAP NEWS - Lambeth Learning and Development Event: A Focus on Diet and Nutrition

We were thrilled to co-host the first A Better Start (ABS) Learning and Development Event with a focus on diet and nutrition.

The two-day event, held on 1st and 2nd March at the wonderful Kia Oval in Lambeth, saw leading experts from the worlds of behavioural insights and public health share the latest developments in research and practice.

It was a fantastic event with inspiring presentations and discussions and plenty of networking between local Lambeth partners and colleagues from the other ABS sites.

LEAP held a ‘World Café’ session at the event where the ABS sites spoke about the projects they are rolling out to improve the diet and nutrition of their communities. LEAP showcased our brilliant Community based Activity and Nutrition (CAN) programme, which is designed to support pregnant women with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 and over living in the LEAP area to make healthy lifestyle changes. CAN was really well received and generated a lot of interest from the delegates at the event.
