Brief Encounters

LEAP is very pleased to be working with OnePlusOne to bring Brief Encounters training to a large number of the wider LEAP workforce by the end of 2015.

OnePlusOne has developed Brief Encounters, a model to help frontline practitioners make timely and effective interventions with the families they encounter. Family practitioners are usually turned to when people experience problems at home. This presents an opportunity for the practitioner to make an early intervention by engaging with the family, assessing needs and encouraging them to seek their own solutions to relationship conflict and family issues. There is then a lesser likelihood of the couples or families issues escalating to crisis point.

Training the LEAP workforce in this approach will continue throughout 2016, with the LEAP aim of improving the early experiences of babies and young children to enable them to have the best start in life.
